Located in the west end of Ottawa, McKellar Park is a relatively new neighbourhood on the scene. As of the first quarter of 2013, the neighbourhood was home to 3,611 residents. While the average home or condo in the area is a bit pricey at around $1,810,000, there are a number of enticing properties on the market. Among these are three condominium complexes in the works, along with a host of mid-range properties to suit the budgeted home buyer.
The best part is, most of the residents are happy to live in a thriving and growing community. A number of condos have been converted to single family dwellings, some of which are for sale, while others are available for rent. Some of the best properties are located on a cul de sac, making them ideal for the commuter looking for an oasis in the middle of the city. McKellar Park is a short jaunt from some of the city’s more affluent neighborhoods, including Gloucester and Kanata.
The best part is, McKellar Park is just a hop, skip and a jump away from a plethora of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. McKellar Park may be best known for its ice hockey, but the area also boasts a smattering of soccer, football, and basketball fields, along with a plethora of open spaces for families and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy. As with any enclave, the nitty gritty of the area is a tad unwelcoming, but if you can sever the knot you’ll find that the area is a great place to call home. The town may be a bit on the pricier side, but the amenities are worth the price tag. Click for more!
